We read your markers through a performance lens, using the strongest evidence for where you perform and feel at your best. Standard ranges are built mainly to screen for disease, so normal there can still sit below your best.

Standard ranges call your vitamin D normal at anything above 50 nmol/L. That number is set to avoid deficiency and disease, not to help you perform.

The evidence points higher. Vitamin D supports muscle function, bone strength, immune health and recovery, and studies in athletes tend to associate better outcomes with levels around 90 to 120 nmol/L. So a result of 55 can clear the standard bar and still leave performance on the table. That gap is exactly what we look at.
